Thank you for visiting The Capricious Traveler, I’m Jameca (juh-mee-kuh), originally from Virginia, made from love by my parents who decided to get creative with their firstborn and combine both their names (James + Carol.) Just a little random but fun fact.

I live in sunny Los Angeles with my beautiful daughter, and I work in advertising and marketing as Director of Account Services for a boutique agency located in DTLA. I’m also a bartender at a family-owned New Orleans restaurant in the Crenshaw/Jefferson Park area of the city.

I have been and most likely will always be a girl who marches to the beat of her own drum, so I thought I’d start cataloging some of the thoughts, adventures, challenges, and discoveries that create my little journey here on earth. I just really want to create a space to share and showcase some of the amazing souls and their talents that I encounter who inspire me along the way.

In truth, I’ve never been big on writing (though those closest to me would highly disagree) but this website is simply a reflection of me and all my capricious ways. I hope through words (and time), we’ll get to know each other. You’ll feel, you’ll laugh, you’ll discover, and you’ll be inspired.

It is discovery after all that excites me when it comes to traveling, in all of its whimsical, unpredictable, inconstant and changeable ways. Whether it’s a 45 minute or a 10-hour flight, the unknown is always right outside your door.
